A Quick Glance at my Work

I’m a passionate, hard working, and curious psychotherapist specializing in helping young adult and adult clients recover from the enduring impacts of complex trauma, adversity, stress, and grief. I have worked with people from various cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic demographics, neurodivergent clients, as well as clients whose gender and/or sexuality are expansive. I have lived overseas for 10 years in Vietnam, Jordan, and now Hong Kong, working as an educator in diverse school settings before becoming a clinician.

I work best with clients who are looking for a comprehensive, in-depth, and individualized approach to therapy. My background in studying and treating complex/relational trauma has me well positioned to help guide clients through the destabilizing symptoms of CPTSD that are often misunderstood or misplaced.

The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of what I do. I am naturally patient, gentle, compassionate, calm, and secure—conditions that I intentionally cultivate to create a felt sense of safety with my clients. I am skilled at meeting clients’ complexity and distress with assuredness and consistency.

My Approach

  • Relational, culturally responsive, non-pathologizing, with a focus on neurophysiology and interpersonal neurobiology

  • I integrate top-down and bottom-up approaches to address here-and-now symptoms and gently scaffold my clients toward their preferences

  • I am competent in working within an LGBTQ+ affirming framework

  • I received regular supervision to sharpen my cultural sensitivity and bring awareness to my bling spots

  • Research-based approaches I draw from:

    • NARM, the Neuro-Affective Relational Model for treating Complex Trauma (certification in progress)

    • Narrative Therapy (certification obtained)

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (informed)

    • Psychodynamic Therapy (informed)

    • Interpersonal Neurobiology (informed)

    • Mindfulness and Self-Compassion (informed)

Some Clients I Have Worked With

  • University/college students with histories of emotional abuse/neglect and enduring identifications around shame

  • Young adults experiencing high/chronic stress, burnout, panic attacks, persistent anxiety

  • Women who have left violent or abusive relationships

  • Women experiencing perinatal or postnatal mental health challenges

  • Adults confronting mental health concerns for the first time and experiencing overwhelm, isolation, or disconnection

  • Human trafficking survivors and asylum seekers living with the impacts of complex traumatic stress as well as the stress of ongoing and active immigration cases

  • People experiencing suicidality (safety planning, risk assessment)

  • Migrant domestic workers engaged in ongoing, highly stressful legal disputes in the human rights realm

  • Survivors of sexual or gender-based violence
